Animator's Guide to Unique Animations In-Engine

This guide is written for the sake of adding custom animations into Team Fortress 2 as unique animations. By adding them as unique animations, they will not overwrite any existing animations in the game. Your animation and the one you intended to "Replace" will be able to co-exist.
